Minister Adele McMillan

Born and raised in the York County, Virginia area she was persuaded out of a sense of dedication and love for family to pursue her educational endeavors in the York County School system and at Thomas Nelson Community College.

Adele did a lot of “kneeling time to keep in good standing” in her journey. And, God being who He is, blessed her with a faith walk that began in earnest at Third Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia. She dutifully fulfilled the roles of a Church Trustee; Sunday School teacher for elementary, middle school and young adult classes and vacation Bible School; assisted in organizing a children’s nursery ministry; and started a Single’s Ministry. She still found time for participation in the Friendship Circle and Culinary Ministries and various church choirs.

She accepted her call to preach the Gospel in 2003 and was licensed on February 24, 2008 at Third Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Paul Sheppard. She held the distinct honor of being the first female licensed at the church.

In order to further equip herself, to carry forth the Gospel, McMillan continued her studies at Evans Smith Bible Institute of Leadership of the School of Theology at Virginia Union University and the Baptist General Convention, attaining certificates in Religious Studies as well as in Pastoral Counseling. She is currently studying at Andersonville Theological Seminary.

She serves as the Treasurer of the Ministers Coalition of Hampton & Vicinity, Advisory Board Member of H.E.L.P. Inc. (Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodgings and Provisions, Inc.); Chaplain for the local chapter of I.C.M. (Industrial and Commercial Ministries); a frequent participant on The Praise Connection radio program, and the Radio Prayer Partners monthly third Saturday Prayer Breakfast in Hampton; and, is currently serving at Second Baptist Church (Hampton) under Reverend Doctor Brenda McDonald.

Also, I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send and who will go for us? Then I said here I am Lord send me.”  Isaiah 6:8
